Everything you might want to know before — or after — ordering from our workshop.
Welcome. Luma-Isla Studios is a veteran-owned, family-run 3D printing workshop. We run 30+ printers and hand-finish every piece ourselves — Catholic statues, pet memorials, wildlife busts, cosplay, and Milwaukee Packout accessories.
If your question isn't answered here, message us — we usually reply within a few hours.
We're a veteran-owned, family-run 3D printing workshop based in Edmond, Oklahoma. Our founder is a U.S. military veteran, and the workshop is staffed entirely by family. We run 30+ printers and hand-finish every piece ourselves — nothing is outsourced and nothing is dropshipped.
Three reasons buyers tell us they prefer our work:
Every order ships from our workshop in Edmond, Oklahoma. We pack and ship in-house — your order does not get handed off to a fulfillment center.
No. Luma-Isla Studios is an independent veteran- and family-run small business. We're not a reseller, not a print-on-demand store, and not affiliated with any of the brands or franchises that may inspire our fan-made cosplay or fantasy pieces.
It reflects what we value about the workshop — light (luma) and a little island of focused craftsmanship in a world of mass-produced decor. We believe small, hand-finished work still matters.
Most in-stock items ship in 1–3 business days. Once shipped, US delivery typically takes 2–5 business days via USPS or UPS Ground. Custom and personalized pieces add 5–10 business days for hand-finishing.
Your order confirmation email shows real-time status, and Etsy buyers can track everything through their account.
Yes — free standard shipping on US orders $35 and up. Orders under $35 ship at calculated rates. International shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight and destination.
Yes — we ship to most countries. International orders typically arrive in 7–18 business days depending on customs in your country. Buyers are responsible for any local duties or import taxes.
Almost always — message us before ordering with the date and your zip code, and we'll confirm whether standard or expedited shipping will get it to you in time. We've shipped a lot of last-minute Father's Day, First Communion, and birthday gifts; we'll do everything we can.
Yes — every order ships with full tracking. You'll receive the tracking number by email the moment your label is printed.
Message us. If a package shows no movement for more than 7 business days, we'll open a carrier trace and either reship the order or issue a full refund — whichever you prefer. We don't make customers fight with the post office.
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery on non-personalized, non-custom items in original condition. Buyer covers return shipping. Once the item arrives back to us in resalable condition, we issue a full refund within 3 business days.
Personalized, engraved, custom-color, or custom-size pieces are non-returnable unless they arrive damaged or defective.
Message us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage and the packaging. We will either reprint and reship at no cost, or issue a full refund — your choice. We pack carefully, so this is rare, but we stand behind every piece.
Once we receive the returned item (or once we approve a damage claim), refunds are issued within 3 business days. Your bank or card issuer typically posts the refund within another 3–5 business days.
Yes — message us first. Exchanges are easiest if the original piece is still in original condition. For personalized items we usually offer a replacement at our cost rather than a strict exchange.
No — every piece described as "bronze" is a premium PETG sculpture with a hand-applied bronze-tone finish. This makes it lightweight, shatter-resistant, and dramatically more affordable than cast bronze, while keeping the gallery look. Up close it reads as a hand-finished art piece, not a plastic toy.
PETG is a premium 3D printing material widely used in food-safe containers and medical devices. It's non-toxic, BPA-free, and physically very durable — much tougher than PLA and significantly more heat-resistant. Safe for homes with children and pets as decor (we don't recommend any small piece as a teether, of course).
One exception: our Milwaukee Packout accessories are printed in ABS-CF (carbon-fiber-reinforced ABS) rather than PETG. ABS-CF is purpose-chosen for jobsite use — higher heat resistance and confirmed load strength up to 300 lbs when mounted. Everything else in the shop is PETG.
The hand-applied finish is sealed and designed to last indoors for many years. Keep pieces out of direct sunlight to preserve the color over the long term. We have repeat buyers whose first piece from us is still on their shelf five years later.
Dust gently with a soft, dry brush or microfiber cloth. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth is fine — avoid soaking, harsh chemicals, alcohol, or abrasive cleaners. For Catholic statues and bronze busts, occasional dusting is all the maintenance you'll ever need.
Most pieces are finished for indoor display as standard. PETG is UV- and heat-stable enough for occasional covered porch use, but extended outdoor exposure isn't recommended for our standard bronze-finished sculptures.
Need an outdoor-ready version? We can produce most pieces with an upgraded UV-resistant outdoor sealant for garden, patio, or memorial-marker placement — message us before ordering and we'll quote the outdoor upgrade.
The Milwaukee Packout accessories are designed and tested for full outdoor use — trucks, jobsites, year-round.
Yes — and we love them. Custom commissions take 2–4 weeks depending on complexity. Common requests include:
Message us with your idea and a target budget; we'll quote and confirm timeline before any work starts.
Yes — for nearly every statue and bust we offer:
Message us before ordering to request a custom finish at no extra charge in most cases.
Yes:
Message before ordering to request engraving and confirm the exact spelling.
Standard personalization (engraving on an existing listing): adds 5–7 business days to the normal processing time. Full custom commissions: 2–4 weeks depending on complexity. We always confirm a target ship date in writing before starting.
Yes — this is our favorite kind of order. Send a description, references, and any deadline. We'll quote and confirm whether it's something we can do well before any commitment.
Yes — free with every order. Add the note text in the order notes at checkout. We hand-write each note (we don't print labels).
No — we never include pricing or an invoice inside the package. Direct-to-recipient shipping is fully gift-safe.
Every sculpture is carefully wrapped in packing paper and cushioned with eco-friendly packing materials inside a rigid double-walled box. We've shipped hundreds of sculptures across the US — breakage is extremely rare, and when it happens we make it right.
Our packaging is already gift-presentable — pieces arrive nested in clean packing paper inside a rigid kraft box that looks intentional. For higher-stakes gifts (memorials, weddings, First Communions) message us and we'll add a kraft ribbon and handwritten card at no charge.
No — we are a workshop, not a parish, temple, or place of worship. We recommend asking your priest, rabbi, imam, monk, or spiritual leader to bless or consecrate the piece at its new home. Many of our buyers tell us this becomes a small, meaningful moment in itself.
Our current in-shop Catholic catalog includes Mater Dolorosa (Sorrowful Mother), St. Anthony of Padua, St. Joseph with the Child Jesus, and St. Benedict. Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Jude, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Immaculate Heart of Mary, and Infant of Prague are launching in the coming weeks.
We're actively expanding into other faith traditions, all available as custom commissions today:
Looking for a specific figure or symbol from your tradition? Message us — religious and spiritual commissions are some of the most meaningful work we do, and we approach every request with the respect and care it deserves.
Yes — and we've shipped many. Hand-engraved name and date personalization (+$10) is especially popular for these milestones: First Communion, Confirmation, baptism, christening, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, baby blessings, dedications, and faith-tradition coming-of-age celebrations. Order at least 3 weeks before the event to allow time for engraving and shipping.
Yes — and beautifully. We design the memorial with a removable head, giving you a full interior compartment sized to hold your pet's complete ashes. After placing the ashes inside, the head fits cleanly back into place and conceals the compartment entirely — the piece reads as a sculpture from every angle.
Many buyers also tuck their pet's collar, ID tag, or a small handwritten note inside alongside the ashes. It becomes a complete, dignified urn disguised as art — not a token keepsake compartment.
Doberman is currently available. Golden Retriever, Labrador, Bulldog (English and French), German Shepherd, and a generic Cat memorial are launching over the next 60 days. Don't see your breed? Message us — most breeds we can produce as a custom order.
Yes — this is one of the most meaningful things we do. Send 3–5 clear photos (different angles), the pet's name, and any dates you'd like engraved. Custom pet memorials run $149–$249 depending on size and detail. We'll quote and confirm a timeline before any work begins.
Our wildlife busts are 10 inches as standard — substantial display pieces sized to make a statement on a shelf, mantel, console, or above a doorway. Every listing includes a scale photo so you can see exactly how the piece sits in a real room.
Want a different size? Message us before ordering with the dimensions you'd like and we'll produce it for you — larger statement pieces, smaller desk versions, matched scaling across a set, all possible.
Yes — the full Safari Room Set is available: Lion, Giraffe, Hippo, Elephant, Rhino, and Zebra — all 10 inches, finished in matching bronze (or your chosen finish). The bundle prices significantly better than buying the pieces individually.
Search "safari" in our shop for current listings, or message us directly — some pieces are still being added to the storefront and we can take your order right away in the meantime. Tell us which animals you want and any finish preference, and we'll send a quote within a few hours.
Send three measurements:
Photos are helpful too. We size most masks to fit adult head circumferences from 22"–23.5" by default; custom sizing adds about 5 business days.
Yes — once you complete the quick padding step. Our masks are vented for airflow and weigh under 1 lb, but we intentionally do not pre-install interior padding. Head and face structures vary too much from person to person for one-size-fits-all foam to be comfortable.
Every mask ships with a fitting guide that walks you through it — which specific padding materials to buy (we name products you'll find at any craft, hobby, or hardware store), how to cut them to size, and exactly where to place them inside the mask for your face. Most buyers complete the fit in 10–15 minutes.
Once fitted, the mask is comfortable for full-day convention wear. We've shipped masks worn at every major US convention.
No — every fan-inspired piece (Marvel, LOTR, Black Panther, etc.) is independently designed and sold as an original art piece. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any studio, publisher, or licensor. Pieces are sold as fan-made tribute work and original sculpture.
No — every Packout accessory in our shop is an independently designed, 3D-printed aftermarket accessory compatible with the Milwaukee Packout system. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Milwaukee Tool. Designs are originals, not copies.
Yes — and this is the only product line in our shop printed in ABS-CF (carbon-fiber-reinforced ABS). We chose this material specifically for Packout because it has to live a different life than our display pieces.
ABS-CF gives our Packout accessories:
Yes — we do red, black, yellow, and custom shop colors regularly for crews. For larger orders (10+ units) message us about volume pricing and branding.
Our digital tools (like the 3D Print Pricing Calculator) are delivered as both Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel versions, included in one purchase. You'll get a download link by email immediately after checkout.
Message us anytime. We typically reply within a few hours and will walk you through it step by step. We've never had a buyer end up unable to use one of our digital tools.
Per industry standard, digital downloads are non-refundable once accessed. However — if the file isn't working for you, message us first. We will always make it right, whether that means a fix, a replacement, or in rare cases a refund.
Yes — for orders of 10+ units of the same SKU, or mixed orders over $500, message us for wholesale pricing. The more units in one order, the better the per-piece pricing scales. We've supplied small parishes, independent gift shops, pet cremation services, and crew-branded Packout accessories for trade businesses.
Yes — digital gift cards are available on our Etsy storefront in any amount, delivered by email instantly. They're perfect when you know someone in your life would love a piece from us but you'd rather let them pick the saint, breed, or animal that's right for them. No expiration. Balance carries forward across multiple orders. Cards work across the entire shop including custom commissions.
Yes — we work with companies on several gifting programs:
Message us with your team size, target budget per piece, and timeline. Most corporate orders run 4–6 weeks for full custom work; off-the-shelf branded orders ship in 2–3 weeks.
Yes — this is some of our favorite work. Common requests:
We work with communities across all faith traditions. Discounts scale with quantity. Message us with your event date and we'll plan timing so engraved pieces arrive in time — even tight turnarounds are usually possible.
Yes — pet cremation services, veterinary practices, and pet loss support groups can order pet memorial figurines at wholesale pricing to offer alongside cremation services or as practice gifts to grieving pet families. Custom breed-specific work is available so your service can offer a meaningful keepsake matched to the pet. Many of our partner clinics include a memorial in their cremation packages — message us for a partnership rate sheet.
Yes — if you sell at conventions, craft fairs, comic-cons, faith conferences, trade shows, or pop-up markets, we offer reseller pricing on curated assortments built for your event. We can match your booth's niche (cosplay-only for cons, faith-only for parish events, wildlife/safari for nature shows, etc.). Message us with your event calendar and target inventory.
We're actively building one — interest welcome. If you create content around 3D printing, faith and home decor, pet remembrance, cosplay craftsmanship, the trades, or veteran-owned small business, message us with your platform, audience size, and the kind of content you make. We're open to product seeding, affiliate commissions, and custom co-created pieces for content collaborations.
We're happy to support press, podcasts, and creators who cover small-business, veteran-owned, 3D printing, faith decor, pet memorial, cosplay, or trades topics. Email info@luma-isla.com with your outlet, deadline, and what you'd like to cover. Workshop tours, behind-the-scenes photography access, and expert quotes are all available — Juan Pablo loves talking about the work.
Luma-Isla is a true family operation:
That's the whole team. Every piece you order is touched by family hands, never outsourced.
Where Play Meets Purpose. Made with Love, Built for Growth.
Lucien's Tiny Treasures is our sister shop, run by our son Lucien Alessandro — with Mom and Dad helping behind the scenes.
It started because Lucien kept watching Dad design, print, and pack orders — and asking, "Can I help?" At first it was small things: handing over packing supplies, picking what we should make next, proudly standing by the door when a package was ready to go out. But it quickly became clear this wasn't just curiosity. He wanted to be part of building something real.
So we turned it into a family project with purpose. This shop isn't about being the biggest or the most profitable. It's about teaching Lucien what growth looks like in real life — how ideas turn into products, how quality matters, how you take care of people, and how consistency adds up over time. We want him to learn that business can be creative, honest, and kind.
Every time you place an order from Lucien's shop, you're not just buying a 3D printed item — you're joining a family story we're building together, and helping a little boy learn confidence, responsibility, and pride in his work.
Lucien's shop lives on Etsy: lucienstinytreasures.etsy.com. Stop by, see what tiny treasures he's curated, and leave a kind review if you order — Lucien reads every single one, and Mom reads them with him.
Yes — please do. Lucien lights up when buyers leave a note for him. Add anything you'd like to say in the order notes at checkout (on either the Lucien's Tiny Treasures shop or here at Luma-Isla). Mom reads them with him, and they often inspire what gets added to the shop next.
Intentionally. Every piece across both shops is hand-finished by us — never outsourced, never dropshipped. We've turned down growth opportunities that would have meant losing that. The day we'd have to choose between scaling fast and keeping the work family-made, we'd choose family. That's the whole point of why we built this in the first place.
We moved! luma-isla.com is now a portfolio site that showcases our work and tells the story of the workshop. All purchases — with current sizes, finishes, reviews from buyers, and full checkout — now happen on our Etsy storefront: lumaisla.etsy.com.
You'll find the same hand-finished pieces, the same family workshop behind every order, and the same handwritten gift notes — just a simpler experience for buyers and a lighter site for us to maintain.
Two honest reasons:
If you're a returning Shopify customer, your past orders are still on file — message us if you need anything pulled from your old order history.
No. Same workshop, same family, same hand-finishing, same materials, same packaging, same free handwritten gift notes. The only change is where you check out.
If you have an outstanding gift card or store credit from the previous Shopify storefront, message us at info@luma-isla.com with your order number or the email used on the original order, and we'll honor the balance on your next Etsy purchase.
We usually reply within a few hours. The workshop is small enough that you'll always be talking to family.
